June 11, 9.30 am to 12.30
This is an experimental class exploring acrylic paint's flexibility and creativity through play. Play is a hugely important part of creativity and is often neglected. All the complexities of this beautiful medium will be revealed through lots of demos and hands-on practice. The workshop is guaranteed to be enormous fun.
Acrylic is an often misunderstood medium. I was resistant to it for many years. However, once I discovered how to use complex layers I came to understand how amazing it really is. Perfect for beginners, it is forgiving and also magical. I personally use all of the techniques I will be showing you in my own work. My style of class is relaxed, open and generous.
I will show you how to make the most amazing range of colours through mixing, how to use acrylic mediums, layering and glazing, reductive and additive techniques, and the creation of complex texture
My studio is set on 10 rural acres with stunning mountain views. The only background noise is bird song and the creek which runs through my property. My studio is open with lots of fresh air, the best place to be inspired away from everyday life.
