Agapantha painting 80x60x4cm acrylic on handmade ply panel.
I have loved Agapanthus since first seeing them in Bermuda on my first trip to the island.
When we started planting our current garden I was gifted 2 trailer loads of agapanthus. I was delighted and we dug holes and put them in all over. I didn't know t the time that they like their own company and need to be planted close together. I was anticipating glorious beds filled with these beautiful blue flowers.
Gradually all the plants disappeared. I didn't see them die they just upped and vanished.
We made more flower beds a couple of years ago and I valiantly bought agapantha tube stock. I could not have been more pleased when they finally flowered and I have a row of agapanthus in front of my studio. The lavender didn't fair as well but that is another story.
